For superior attention to the Forests of New Mexico, Nassau Resources, Inc. received the 1990 El Bosque Award for their efforts in the Carracas Canyon Coalbed Unit in the Carson National Forest, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico. Nassau followed existing logging roads, built pipelines along most environmentally favorable routes, buried gas and water lines in the same ditch, utilized right-angle turns to well locations, and a worked in a cooperative fashion with the Carson National Forest and the Bureau of Land Management. Jerry McHugh, Jr. served as President of Nassau during the drilling and development of Carracas.
